Monclova Christmas event set
MONCLOVA – "Christmas at the Community Center" will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at
the Monclova Community Center.
Kids will be able to visit with Santa Claus and visit Santa’s Workshop, where they can make an ornament
to take home. There will also be a Christmas coloring contest.
A holiday craft show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The community center is also sponsor an Angel Tree to help area needy families.
The center is located at 8115 Monclova Road.
‘North Pole Express’ will run through Dec. 27 at Findlay
FINDLAY – The "North Pole Express" will be transporting passengers through a wonderland of
sparkling lights and holiday decorations at the Northwest Ohio Railroad Preservation on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday nights through Dec. 27.
It is located at the northeast corner of exit 161 on Interstate 75, just north of Findlay.
Train ride tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for children 12 and younger.
Inside the museum building will be Christmas decorations and holiday model and toy trains as well as a
railroad gift shop.
Victorian home at Napoleon will be open on Dec. 12 and 13
NAPOLEON – Henry County Historical Society’s Holiday Happenings at the Victorian home of Dr. John
Bloomfield will be held Dec. 12 and 13. The home is located at 229 W. Clinton St.
A candlelight tour will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 12, while an afternoon tour will be held from 1
to 4 p.m. on Dec. 13.
Gift baskets, history books, quilts and other gifts will be sold at the "General Store." Junior
historians will be selling cookies, candy and raffle tickets in the carriage house.
A future event of the historical society will be a wine and cheese gathering on Feb. 13 from 7 to 9 p.m.
A selection of wines will be offered, along with cheese from the Napoleon Creamery.
Heralding the Holidays is this weekend at Botanical Garden
TOLEDO – Have a truly enjoyable holiday shopping experience while strolling through the beautiful winter
gardens at Toledo Botanical Garden during Heralding the Holidays, a free holiday festival with fun
activities for the entire family.
Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. will feature free horse-drawn wagon rides and a tree lighting celebration at 7.

Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. will showcase local artists and the
garden’s resident arts and horticulture organizations. The organizations will be offering a wide variety
of gifts for sale including pottery, glass, jewelry, wearables, herbal products, baked goods, beauty
products, photographs, holiday décor, paintings and much more.
All weekend long visitors will enjoy live festive entertainment, children’s activities, Santa Claus and
refreshments.
There is no charge for admission or parking and all activities are free as well.
The botanical garden is located at 5403 Elmer Drive in Toledo.
