The Bobcats, who were 11-0 winners Saturday over Nordonia, were 1-2 in the tournament.
Michael Rowe’s goal at 5:29 of the third snapped a 1-1 tie and Andy Martin increased the lead to two
goals just 34 seconds later.
Findlay’s Alex Henry added a power-play goal into an empty net with 1:03 left after BG pulled its goalie
to return to even strength. The Bobcats were penalized just 43 seconds earlier.
“The game’s 1-1 going into the third and good teams win third periods,” BG coach Dan DeWitt said. “We
didn’t do that today.”
The teams traded power-play goals in the second period.
Findlay’s Layne Martin opened the scoring at 4:05, but BG’s Joey Harris tied the game at 8:25.
BG didn’t play well and was out-shot by a 36-28 margin.
The game was penalty-filled with 17 minors.
Findlay’s power play was 2-of-7, while BG was 0-of-5. BG was short-handed six times in the first 22
minutes.
“Too many penalties, too many mistakes and we have to do a better job of getting the puck to the net,”
DeWitt said.
BG’s Nick Morris made 33 saves.
Against Nordonia, the Bobcats scored seven times in the first period and four times in the second period
to end the game after two periods via the 10-goal mercy rule.
Nine different players scored the BG goals, including Harris and Reid Mankowski with two each.
BG held a 50-6 edge in shots.
