Perrysburg chorale, symphony present Handel compositions
The Perrysburg Symphony Chorale and the Perrysburg Symphony will perform works by Georg Friederich Handel
Friday at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, Toledo, and Sunday at 3 p.m. First United Methodist
Church.
The chorus and orchestra, directed by Wayne Anthony, will perform Handel’s "Ode for St. Cecilia’s
Day" and "Coronations Anthems."
Tickets will be sold at the door both days.
A reception will be held following Sunday’s concert where those attending will have a chance to meet the
chorale’s new assistant director Michael Becker.
Youth orchestra presents holiday pops performance
PERRYSBURG – The Toledo Youth Orchestra celebrates its 60th year with the annual Holiday Pops Concert,
Monday, at 8 p.m. at Perrysburg High School.
The performance will feature holiday favorites including "Sleigh Ride," music from the Broadway
hit "Wicked" and "Stars and Stripes Forever."
Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults and can be purchased at the door.
The concert will feature both the orchestra and the newly-formed Sinfonietta. There are 135 students in
both programs. Students, who selected by audition, come from 28 area schools, grades 9-12.
WBGU directors seek input
Directors from WBGU-PBS will be seeking ideas from viewers on issues of concern during the TV station’s
public affairs program, "NW Ohio Journal," today at 8 p.m.
"We hope to hear from viewers from across our 17-county coverage area, so we can continue to
dedicate WBGU-PBS to serving the public interest, convenience and necessity in your community,"
said WBGU-PBS General Manager Patrick Fitzgerald, who will lead the discussion with Stephen Kendell,
WBGU-PBS director of media acquisition, storage and distribution, and Denise Kisabeth, director of
content creation.
Information gathered during the program will help determine WBGU-PBS programming and other initiatives
for the coming year.

Area sculptors show work
TOLEDO – Sculptors from throughout Northwest Ohio will exhibit their work in the Toledo Area Sculptors
Guild Exhibit at the Secor Building Gallery, 425 Jefferson St., that opens Nov. 21 with a reception from
7 to 10 p.m.
The show, which continues through Jan. 2, features sculptures by 26 area artists.
Gallery hours are: Fridays 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 3 to 9 p.m.
Rising star to play Gershwin
TOLEDO – Rising star pianist Stewart Goodyear will be the featured soloist in the Toledo Symphony
Orchestra’s concert "An American in Paris" Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.
Goodyear will be featured in George Gershwin’s Concerto in F.
The orchestra, conducted by Stefan Sanderling, will also perform Gershwin’s "An American in
Paris" and two pieces Charles Ives "Variations on ‘America’" orchestrated by William
Schuman and Symphony No. 3 ("The Camp Meeting").
