Otsego FFA wins Wood County’s ‘parly-pro’ event

Otsego FFA won the Wood County FFA Parliamentary Procedure contest held at Bowling Green High School on
Nov. 11.
Elmwood FFA was second; Eastwood, third; and Bowling Green was fourth. All teams received a gold rating,
which is the highest rating that can be bestowed on a chapter.’Otsego’s team consisted of all chapter
officers and three student members. Team members for the championship team were Sara Boyle, Amy
Gobrogge, Mike Hannewald, Dylan Jacobs, Emily Limes, Jamie Limes, Hali Schwind, Joe Thomas, Caroline
Weihl and Allie Works.
Emily Limes, president and Hannewald, vice president, served as the chairs for the meeting.
In the parliamentary procedure event, contestants are given three minutes to prepare for the presentation
of a 16-minute meeting.
During the meeting members must demonstrate the completion of six different parliamentary abilities and
debate useing four main motions. All of the team’s members must answer questions on parliamentary
procedure at the conclusion of the meeting and the secretary must answer one question about his or her
minutes.
Otsego will continue on to the district contest on Dec. 8 at Penta Career Center.
