Ruth C. Neiling, 85, of Deshler, Ohio, died Sunday morning, November 15, 2009 at Vancrest Healthcare
Center, Holgate, Ohio.
She was born December 3, 1923 in Shelby, Ohio to the late A.L. and Laura (Maag) Crumrine. On November 9,
1946 she married Clarence J. Neiling in New Bavaria, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 24,
2000.
Ruth was a homemaker and worked at the former Koppenhofer Bros. Poultry and Deshler Products/Sherwin
Williams.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the annual fall outing at Oak Openings Park. Her
favorite hobbies were sewing, crocheting and quilting.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler; and a lifetime member of VFW Post
8847 Auxiliary, New Bavaria.
Ruth is survived by four daughters, Barbara (William) Henning, Bowling Green; Marilyn (David) Kihm,
Bluffton; Marie (Richard) Feehan, Bowling Green; Shirley (Raymond) Gerschutz, Leipsic; three sons,
Edward (Deborah) Neiling, Deshler; Joseph Neiling, Deshler and Larry (Nancy) Neiling, Mauldin, SC; 16
grandchildren, Dawn Henning, Laura Henning, Matthew Henning, Melissa Brinkman, Kristy Schweingruber,
Tonya Van Fossen, Brad Feehan, Lisa Vriezelaar, Beth Bazeley, Brandi Gerschutz, Mitchell Neiling, Alexa
Neiling, Rachel Neiling, Michelle Neiling, Julie Wojner and Sara Orozco; 14 great-grandchildren; two
sisters, Mae Brown, Leipsic, and Rita (Robert) Layne, Defiance; and brother, Clifford Crumrine, New
Bavaria.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Gilbert and Virgil Crumrine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, Deshler, with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Interment will follow in St. Louis Catholic
Cemetery, Custar.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, where a rosary
service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Immaculate Conception Parish Foundation or the Parkinson’s
Foundation.
