Thanksgiving meal served by Kitchen of Hope
PERRYSBURG – A Thanksgiving Day Feast sponsored by the Kitchen of Hope will be served on Thanksgiving
Day, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave.
This free meal is offered to all Wood County residents and is by reservation only. Everyone in the
community is invited to enjoy this meal by calling the Zoar office at (419) 874-4346 to advise how many
people will be attending.
Reservations must be received by Friday
Civil War topic of Waterville historical group
WATERVILLE – "The Civil War and Northwest Ohio" will be the topic at the Wednesday meeting of
the Waterville Historical Society. The group meets at 7 p.m. at Wakeman Hall, 401 Farnsworth Road.
Rev. Larry Michaels, pastor of Martin Luther Lutheran Church and author of books about East Toledo, will
be the speaker. He had several ancestors who fought in the Civil War.
Michaels and his wife, Suzi, own the Bihl House, where the East Toledo Historical Society maintains a
library for local research.
The talk will be the last in the 2009 series of free programs.
Dancing and singing at public library
Families, listen and dance along to first-rate "Morning Music" at the Wood County District
Public Library on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the Children’s Place.
Students from Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts will perform a brief clarinet,
horn and vocal concert, and teach families Malaysian folk songs and exciting dances.
All ages are welcome.
NAMI meets on Wednesday
On Wednesday, psychiatrist Dr. Charles Burke, M.D., will be speaking about how to find the best
treatment. Held at the Wood County Public Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the meeting room, NAMI’s free
education night is open to all members of the community. Free snacks and beverages will be provided.
