Word has been received from Apache Junction, Arizona that Emmett "Whitey" Sherman, 85, formerly
of McClure, passed away on Thursday, November 5th at the Mt. Vista Medical Center.
He was born on September 11, 1924 in Bowling Green to Ira and Gladys Sherman.
Whitey was preceded in death by both parents, wife Waneta (Mason), brother Richard, and sisters Pearl
Jones, Margaret Stamm, and Thelma Triggs.
He is survived by sisters Luella O’Neil of Mesa, Arizona, Mary Jean Weber and June (James) Roberts of
Bowling Green, sons Gary (Patricia) of McClure, Terry of Apache Junction, Arizona, and Joe (Anne) of
Grand Haven, Michigan, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He worked at the GM Central Foundry in Defiance until his retirement and has resided in Arizona for the
past several years.
