Robert Wink, 76, of Summit Street, is facing charges of theft. According to a bill of information handed
down by a Wood County grand jury on Nov. 4, Wink is charged with illegally using funds from the Black
Swamp Players from 2003 to 2009.
According to Assistant Wood County Prosecutor Melissa Freeman, Wink has fully admitted to siphoning off
more than $20,000 from the organization while he served as treasurer.
"It was little by little over time," Freeman said. "He admitted he did it just to make
ends meet."
The prosecutor in the case said she does not expect this to go to trial.
She indicated trying to make restitution is always a challenge in cases like this.
Wink is scheduled to be arraigned in Wood County Common Pleas Court on Friday at 1 p.m. before Judge Alan
Mayberry.
