Prep volleyball matches set
FOSTORIA – The 16th annual East-West all-star volleyball matches sponsored by the Fostoria Athletic
Boosters are Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at Fostoria High School.
Eight players and one coach from Wood County high schools will participate in the event.
On the West Division I, II, III team are Bowling Green’s Paige DeVriendt, Jordan Dunn and Jordan Garza;
Elmwood’s Lee Ann Irwin and Sam Pollard; and Lakota’s Rachel Hoffman and Olivia Frantz. Lakota’s Brent
Newell is one of the team coaches.
North Baltimore’s Megan Grilliot is a member of the West Division IV team.
The Division IV game is at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Division I, II, II match.
BG’s Luther in NCAA Top 25
Bowling Green’s Shari Luther has broken into the NCAA’s top 25 in attack percentage this week. Luther
leads the Mid-American Conference and ranks 25th in the country with a .375 hitting percentage.
On the season, Luther also leads the Falcons with 2.79 kills per set and 0.84 blocks per set. Her .375
attack percentage is on pace for the second-best ranking in program history and her .314 career attack
percentage is third-best in program history. Three times this year, she has posted 17 kills in a match
and has hit .500 or better in a match three times.
Falcon men to receive rings
Prior to Saturday’s Bowling Green’s men’s basketball game with Wayne State, the Falcons will receive
their Mid-American Conference championships rings from last season. Also, a banner is going to be
unveiled to recognize the regular-season championship.
Tipoff is 1 p.m.

assistant wrestling coach
TONTOGANY – Otsego High School has an opening for an assistant varsity wrestling coach.

Ramsey bowls 300 game
JoJo Ramsey of Fostoria, rolled his fourth career 300 game on Monday at Varsity Lanes in the Monday Night
Trio league.
The 300, his first this season, came in the third game following games of 223 and 214 for a 737 series.
He finished with a 228 game for a 965 4-game block.
