Ray Bowers

Ray Alan Bowers, 85, born in Dearfield, MI on December 30, 1923 to Willie and Della Mae (Newell) Bowers.

He lived in Lemoyne and Lima OH for his first 18 years. In WWII he was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps
in the Pacific.
Known as a wanderlust, he traveled to all continents except Antarctica, plus all 50 states – Australia
and Alaska were his favorites.
He was a member of VFW Post 1138, Bowling Green, American Legion Post 338, Bradner, Marine Corps League,
Lou Diamond Detachment 272, Rossford Eagles and the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruby Mae "Vic" Peterson; daughter, Myrna Mae
Thompson; son, Robert Willis; granddaughter, Michelle Lee Bowers and former wife, Rosemary.
Survived by sons, Alan Ray (Mary) Bowers of Eden Prairie, MN and Larry Gene (Kim) Bowers of Helena, OH;
daughter, Linda Jean Sinkowski of Toledo; former wife, Millie of Luckey, OH; grandsons, Ken and Steven
Bowers and Davis Porter; granddaughters, Misty Bowers, Cheryl Porter, Josy and Jessie Thompson and
Samantha and Jamie Shelton; four great-grandchildren.
