Amy Ocelia Stirling and Phillip Lynn Simmons exchanged wedding vows Aug. 15 at St. Timothy’s Episcopal
Church, St. Louis, Mo.
Rev. John Musgrave led the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bob and Diane Stirling, St. Louis. The groom’s parents are Doug and Karen
Simmons, Grove Street, Bowling Green.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory A-line dress with a V-neckline, bustled train,
and wrapped waist into a vintage pearl and crystal brooch on her right hip. Her blusher was made from
her mother’s wedding veil.
Erin Baldwin, Chillicothe, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Michelle Simmons of Bowling Green, sister of the groom; Carla Bagy, Nashville; Susan
Engle and Risa Shapiro, both of Chicago; Katie Engle, New York City; and Samantha Stirling, St Louis,
sister-in-law of the bride.
All attendants wore espresso brown taffeta A-line dresses with sweetheart necklines, asymmetrical pleated
midriffs and custom-made cultured pink pearl jewelry designed by the bride.
Brian Simmons of Columbus, older brother of the groom, was best man.
Ushers were Jonathan Burns, Columbus; Michael Culbertson, Cocoa Beach, Fla.; Adam Maidment, Indianapolis;
Greg Lohman, Chicago; and brothers of the bride Daniel Stirling, Lake Tahoe, Calif., and Peter Stirling,
St Louis.
Musicians for the ceremony were organist Dean Bye, vocalist Brittany Fain, trumpeter Rick Sharp and
bagpiper Tom Zeller.
A reception was held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Renaissance Grand Hotel, St. Louis, with music
furnished by Brian Owens.
The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica and will make their home at 3930 N. Pine Grove, Apt. 2016, Chicago,
Ill. 60613.
The bride graduated from Ohio State University with a business degree in 2005 and is employed as a
logistics operations manager.
The groom also earned a business degree from OSU in 2005. He is employed as an insurance agent.
