BGSU students trick-or-treating for Cocoon Shelter

0

Students from Bowling Green State University’s Organization for Women’s Issues (OWI) once again will
spend Halloween evening collecting donations for The Cocoon domestic violence shelter.
The students will be dressed as butterflies, to reflect the Cocoon’s logo, and carrying pillowcases. They
will go door-to-door during trick-or-treating hours set by the city of Bowling Green: 6:30 to 8 p.m. on
Saturday.
During last year’s Trick-or-Treating by OWI students, the generosity of the Bowling Green community
resulted in the collection of several dozen bags of items, which were received gratefully by Cocoon
staff. This year, OWI students will be collecting cash, non-perishable food items, and the following
items from the Cocoon’s shelter’s wish list: Coffee, creamer, coffee maker filters, aluminum foil,
Ziploc bags, tall kitchen trash bags, baby wipes, baby food, postage stamps, gift cards to Meijer,
Kroger or Home Depot, new socks, underwear or nightgowns and pajamas of all women’s and children’s
sizes.
So, if a group of slightly taller-than-average butterflies ring your doorbell on Halloween, Cocoon staff
request that you give generously.Students from Bowling Green State University’s Organization for Women’s
