BGHS volleyball plays Findlay tonight at 8
FINDLAY – The Bowling Green volleyball team’s district semifinal is tonight at Liberty-Benton High
School. The match is the second of two tonight, scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
The Bobcats, ranked 18th in the Division I state poll, will play Findlay. Findlay is ranked 10th in the
state.
Perrysburg selling tickets for Maumee football game
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg is selling tickets for Friday night’s football game at Maumee.
The tickts will be on sale Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the high school athletic office.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens.
BGHS bowling tryouts set
Coach Bill Wammes has announced the tryouts for the Bowling Green High School bowling teams, both boys
and girls. Also tryouts will be held for the Middle School team.
Registration for the teams will be held on Nov. 12 at 2:45 p.m.
The registration and tryouts will be held at Al-Mar Lanes, 1010 North Main St.
Interested bowlers may call the center at (419) 352-4637 for details of the cost and tryout schedule.
Bowlers must have a physical before tryouts begin.
Royal youth wrestling registration set
JERRY CITY – Registration is Nov. 3 and Nov. 5 for Royal Youth Wrestling for grades K-6.
The times will be from 6-7:30 p.m. in the high school wrestling room located in the Elmwood Community
Center.
Royal Road Rally planned
WAYNE – A Royal Road Rally is planned Friday at 5 p.m. on Main Street in Wayne.
Fans are invited to come out and cheer on the Elmwood football team as it heads to Genoa.
There will be a Hobo Stew Tailgate after the pep rally at the Country Farmhouse in Wayne.
Simon rolls 300 game, 800 series
Brad Simon of Weston, recorded a 300 game and one of the highest series recorded in the city on Thursday
in the Eagles League at Al-Mar Lanes.
He began with a 279 game before rolling his eighth career 300 game, his first of the season. He finished
with a 267 for a career-best 846. The 800 set was his third and bested his previous high of 810.
While not a city record, the 846 is one of top 10 in the city and near if not included in the top five.

Owens volleyball loses twice
The Owens Community College volleyball team suffered two losses this weekend. Owens lost to Ohio
Community College Athletic Conference rival Columbus State, 25-18, 25-23, 25-15; and to Vincennes, Ind.,
25-23, 25-19, 25-17. Owens remains second in the OCCAC with an 8-2 record and is 29-17 overall.
Leaders for Owens were: Shelby Schuster, 13 kills, 13 digs, four blocks; and Maureen Kurtz, 16 kills,
eight digs, five blocks.
Owens next home match is Wednesday against Lorain at 6 p.m. This is a "Volley for the Cure"
match. Everyone is invited and is encouraged to wear pink.
