5 county teams win sectional volleyball tourneys

Bowling Green, Eastwood, Lake, Lakota and Otsego all won sectional volleyball championships Saturday.
Following is a roundup of the results involving Wood County schools:
DIVISION I
BG sweeps AW
At Otsego High School, The Bobcats won the match, 25-18, 25-18, 25-21. BG is 18-4 overall.
Leaders for BG were: Ashley Dunn, 17 kills, 15 digs; Jordan Dunn, 36 assists, 11 digs; Jordan Garza, 16
digs; and Chelsea Watson and Kelsey Lahey, eights kills each.
BG, ranked 18th in the final Division I state poll, advances to the district semifinals at Liberty-Benton
High School on Tuesday with the first of two matches scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m.
The Bobcats’ opponent is yet to be determined.
Perrysburg loses
At Otsego High School, the Trojans won the sectional championship with a 25-22, 25-16, 25-15 victory over
the Yellow Jackets.
DIVISION II
Eastwood advances
At Liberty Center, Eastwood defeated Defiance, 25-21, 25-17, 15-25, 25-15 to advance to district play at
Liberty-Benton.
The Eagles face Ottawa-Glandorf on Wednesday at 8:15
DIVISION III
Lakota downs L-B
At Liberty-Benton, Lakota held off the host to advance to district play at Perrysburg.
The Raiders are 19-4 overall after a 25-17, 25-13, 23-25, 22-25, 16-14 win over Liberty-Benton.
Lakota’s leaders were: Olivia Frantz, 28 assists; Emily Hagen, 24 assists; Amy Gosche, 24 kills, 11 digs,
four aces; Jessica Hoffman, 16 kills, 15 digs; Kylie Podach, five blocks; and Hannah Podach, 22 digs.

Lakota faces Lake Wednesday at Perrysburg starting at 6:15 p.m.
Lake tops Stritch
At Genoa, Lake advanced to the Perrysburg district with a 20-25, 23-25, 26-24, 25-19,16-14 victory over
Cardinal Stritch.
Lake’s leaders were: Kaysie Brittenham, 16 kills, 19 digs; Brianne Freeman, 10 kills, four blocks, seven
digs; Carly Huston, eight blocks; Lauren Densic, seven blocks; McKenzie Whiteman, four aces, 20 set
assists, one set attack; Rachel Duncan, 24 digs; Adrienne Lowe, 14 digs; Katie Everhardt, 10 set
assists, five digs; and Breanne Hitchen, three aces.
Lake plays Lakota at Perrysburg on Wednesday starting at 6:15 p.m.
Otsego beats PH
At Genoa, Otsego defeated Patrick Henry, 23-25, 25-13, 25-18, 25-19 to advance to district play on
Wednesday at Perrysburg against Genoa in the second match.
Otsego is 20-3 overall.
Genoa tops Rossford
In Genoa, the Comets advanced to district play with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-19 victory over Rossford.
