GRAND RAPIDS — A dinner, dancing and auction benefit is being held today from 4 p.m. to midnight at The
Roadhouse on Jeffers Road to help Josh Heyman pay his medical treatments.
The 31-year-old volunteer firefighter, husband and father of three has been fighting acute myeloid
leukemia since 2006, including having a bone marrow transplant in February. The disease returned after
85 days and was declared statistically terminal. Heyman has chosen to continue fighting the disease.
The event includes a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. and dancing with Kentucky Strait from 8 p.m. to
midnight. Tickets are $15 per person.
Available for purchase will be silent auction items and a live auction with Denver Geitgey, along with a
50/50 raffle.
Persons wishing to make a donation to Heyman to help defray the high medical costs can contact Marisa
