‘Understanding Dementia’ event for caregivers

To help persons who provide care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or a related memory loss
disorder, the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, is hosting a series of workshops to focus
on issues relevant to families starting to encounter Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, or who are
looking for additional information. Topics include symptoms, diagnosis, risk factors, behaviors,
personality changes, medication, home and facility care, legal and financial information related to
dementia and available community services.
If Alzheimer’s disease or another related dementia diagnosis has recently touched your life, this series
of informational workshops will help.
The workshops will run Nov. 4, 11 and 18 from 4-6 p.m. at the association’s Toledo office at 2500 N.
Reynolds Road.
One will also be offered in Fremont on Nov. 2 from 2-4 p.m. at Memorial Hospital, 715 S. Taft Ave.
