The Wood County Committee on Aging is currently scheduling their cholesterol screening clinics for
November. Participants must be a resident of Wood County and 45 or older. The cost is $20 for age 60 and
over, $25 for ages 45-59.
The screening panel includes: Total cholesterol, HDL (good cholesterol), LDL (bad cholesterol),
triglycerides, total cholesterol/HDL ratio and a blood glucose level.
Results will be immediately available and will be discussed with clients by a registered nurse.
Screenings require an appointment and fasting of 12-14 hours prior to the test.
