Fur Ball is Saturday
SYLVANIA – The 2009 Fur Ball will take place on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. at the Franciscan Center of
Lourdes College. This year’s theme is "The Toledo Area Humane Society Through The Years."
It will feature live jazz music, a silent auction. dancing to live music by The Homewreckers and a live
auction.
Admission is $100 per person. Tickets are on sale at the Toledo Area Humane Society at 1920 Indian Wood
Circle and online at www.toledoareahumanesociety.org.
Managing diabetes
FOSTORIA – To help individuals successfully manage diabetes, the Fostoria Community Hospital’s diabetes
education department will offer a class Nov. 4 and 5, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. or Nov. 5 from 8:30 a.m. –
4:30 p.m.
All classes will be held in the Conference Center, on the hospital’s lower level, entrance 2.
A physician’s referral is required.
Miniatures show Oct. 30-31
TOLEDO – On Oct. 30-31 the Toledo Area Miniatures Enthusiasts will present its 14th annual free, public
display of miniatures as part of the 5th Northwest Ohio Miniature Fair (a paid-entry show). It will take
place at St. Clement Hall, 3020 Tremainsville Road, Toledo.
Event hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Oct. 30 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 31.
The show fee is $5 per day for adults or $8 both days; $2 for children, free second day.
Tiffin glass show Nov. 7-8
TIFFIN – The Tiffin Glass Collectors Club will host its 15th annual fall glass show and sale on Nov. 7
and 8 at the Seneca County school of Opportunity, 780 E. County Road 20, south of Tiffin off Ohio 100.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 8.
The $3 admission is good for both days. Children are admitted free.
David King, an engraver from King’s Glass Engraving, will be demonstrating his glass skills during the
show.
Model railroad events set
BLISSFIELD, Mich. – The Blissfied Model Railroad Club will open its giant HO gauge model railroad to the
public Nov. 14-15 and 21-22; Dec. 12-13 and 19-20; and Jan. 16-17.
The hours will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the admission is free.
The Blissfield Celebration of Trains on Dec. 12 will feature the Santa Claus train.
The railroad club is located at 115 E. Adrian St. (U.S. 223). The railroad is on the second floor.
Waterville pancake meal Nov. 2
WATERVILLE ­- The Rotary Club of Waterville will sponsor a pancake and sausage supper on Nov. 2, from 5
to 7 p.m., at the Waterville Primary School 473 Sycamore Lane. The cost is $5 for adults and $3.50 for
children under 10 years.
Proceeds will be used for the Anthony Wayne and Otsego scholarship program and community projects.
