measures include exercising, maintaining a healthy weight, wearing elastic stockings, elevating the
legs, taking walks, and rising up and down on the toes or rocking back and forth on the heels. More
serious cases may require sclerotherapy, an in-office procedure, or surgery.

present a program on The Cookie Jar and More, a local business.
Middleton Twp. Homemakers
The club held their first fall meeting Oct. 1 at the home of Emma Dauer, with eight members present.
A meal was served at 7 p.m. with food prepared by some of the club members who had prepared the same food
at a demonstration at the Wood County Fair. The food was a sampling of international foods the club had
served over the past years at their International Dinners, held annually each spring. The menu includded
Ha’sh Weh from Lebanon, cooked cucumbers for Luxembourg, couscous salad with dried cherries from Israel,
and for dessert, kosarkak (Little Baskets) from Hungary.
Following the meal, Betty Wenig conducted a business meeting. Future meetings were discussed. The next
meeting will be at Judy Hill’s home on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. There will be a cookie exchange, with each lady
nringing two dozen cookies to share.
It was decided to hold future meetings on the first Monday night of the month instead of Thursday.
The evening concluded with Marian Frobose passing out Avon catalogs so each member could order items if
they wish. A percent of the sales will come back to the club treasury. Frobose, who is an Avon
representative, had everyone guess how many Avon products she was using or wearing that night. The
person with the closest guess received a prize.
