Book sale starts today at library
Friends of the Wood County District Public Library will hold its annual book sale at the library in
conjunction with the Black Swamp Arts Festival.
Book sale hours are: today, 4:30 to 6 p.m. for Friends members only; Friday, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
Saturday, noon to
4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1 to 4:30 p.m.
Book prices will be three for $2.
POW-MIA vigil set for Friday
A POW-MIA vigil will be held at Paul C. Ladd VFW Post No. 1148, local at 719 S. Main St. in Bowling
Green, on Friday at 7 p.m. It is sponsored by the post and its auxiliary.
The program is open to everyone.
Kitchen of Hope serves free lunch
PERRYSBURG – Kitchen of Hope II will be serving a free soup and sandwich lunch on Friday at Zoar Lutheran
Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave., from noon until 1:30 p.m.
This meal is free to all Wood County residents on fixed incomes, including senior citizens.
Orders will also be taken at this time for the "Great Food For All" program.

Public invited to tree seminar
The public is invited to a seminar Saturday on hazard tree identification and assessment for home owners.

The Bowling Green Tree Commission is sponsoring the seminar, which will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at the
Rotary Nature Center, 615 S. Wintergarden Road.
Speakers will be Pat O’Brien, superintendent of Parks and Forestry for the Sylvania, and Scott Kirby,
regional manager for Davey Tree Expert Company.
Refreshments will be served.
Wayne Fire plans
Saturday dinner
WAYNE – Wayne’s Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual baked steak dinner Saturday from 4 p.m.
until sold out at the fire station.
Donations are $8 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $6 for children. Children under 5 are free.
