According to Gwen Howe-Gebers, an assistant prosecutor for Wood County, there will be no charges filed
against former Elmwood High School teacher, Dean Zeigler.
Howe-Gebers told the Sentinel-Tribune that a Wood County Grand Jury reviewed information on Zeigler and
no charges were going to be filed.
The prosecutor was the one involved with the ongoing investigation of allegations against the former
teacher and coach.
When asked if the grand jury returned a "no bill," she replied, "No. No charges are being
filed."
Zeigler filed a letter with the school district on Aug. 13 citing personal reasons for his resignation.
The board accepted that resignation on Aug. 17.
He had been on paid administrative leave since Jan. 5 pending the investigation into possible misconduct
with a female student.
Det. Lt. Jamie Webb of the Wood County Sheriff’s office confirmed the end of the investigation.
"We have no active file on him," Webb said.
The school district announced the end of its investigation with the acceptance of Zeigler’s resignation.
