G. Rapids odor is from sludge
GRAND RAPIDS – Township Trustee George Foos has located the source of the recent odor in the village,
something which has been a concern to some local residents. He found two fields on Pratt Lane, on the
edge of town, which had received an application of sludge from the Maumee Wastewater Treatment plant.

"When it’s hot and humid, and they’ve just applied it, it hangs close to the ground," he said.
The odor will dissipate over time.
