Schedel Arboretum sets upcoming seminars and tours

ELMORE – Schedel Arboretum & Gardens, 19255 W. Portage River S. Road, Elmore, has scheduled a
variety of seminars and tours in the next month or so.
Evening guided tour opportunities are available Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m. Evening
tours are open to individuals or those in groups. Learn historical Schedel Information plus detailed
information on trees and flora on the 17-acre garden estate.
Reservations are required, and the fee is $12 per person, for the tours and the following seminars.
The gardens are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Admission is charged
¥ The Aug. 25 program is "Basic Bonsai Care" with Doug Ricci at 10 a.m.
¥ Sept. 15; "Tropical Orchid Seminar," 11 a.m. Representatives from Roberts Flower Supply will
demonstrate all about growing and caring for tropical orchids.
¥ Sept. 22, "Creating Your own Rain Garden" presented by Crystal Diamond of the Ottawa Co. Soil
Water Conservation District. Two separate programs at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Most seminars last an hour; while guided garden tours normally take up to an hour and a half.
