Viola Konzen to mark 100th birthday

Viola (Binger) Konzen, formerly of Pemberville, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Tuesday.
Friends and family will gather at the Portland House Assisted Living facility in Sandusky to honor her.

She was born Aug. 11, 1909 in Malinta, but lived in Wood County for 60 years.
Konzen was employed by Bowling Green State University in housekeeping for 10 years.
She remembers well the days of silent movies since, as a young woman, she was hired to provide piano
music to accompany the action going on in the film.
Her husband, Frank, died in l984.
Her children are Betty Meuser, Westerville; Larry, Marblehead; and Dennis of Portage, Mich. Another son,
James, died last August. There are 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.Viola (Binger) Konzen,
