Rossford library makes budget cuts

ROSSFORD – The Rossford Library Board of Trustees has made cuts in hours and budget items to balance its
budget for the remainder of 2009.
The action was necessary after the library had 35 percent of its state funding cut.
The board decided to close the library on Sundays, cut by 35 percent its budget for new materials, end a
contract with Wood County to provide bookmobile service to outlying areas, and require employees with
health insurance to make additional contributions to their monthly premium with an increased deductible.

The library had already enacted a hiring freeze and suspended any building improvements.
As of Sept. 1, the library will discontinue sending overdue notices through the mail; patrons are
encouraged to provide an e-mail address to receive notices electronically.
The 2010 budget is under review.
