PERRYSBURG – City residents are asked to join the police division in letting criminals know that
neighborhoods are fighting back.
The Perrysburg Police Division will a host a party from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Municipal Park between
Elm and Locust streets as part of the 26th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention
initiative. Residents are asked to lock their doors, turn on their outside lights and join their
neighbors and law enforcement at the park. There will be opportunities to eat, play games and win prizes
while learning about crime prevention services.
"It’s just a way for people to get a little more in tune with what we provide, the services we
provide," Sgt. Christine Chase said.
Activities at the park will include a dunk tank, inflatable bounce houses and balloon artists. In
addition to the snacks and prizes, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Postal Service will
set up tables to discuss crimes such as identity theft with the community.
The national event involves more than 15,000 communities.
