Senior center’s governing board seeks nominees for election

Wood County seniors, age 55 and older, and community leaders are encouraged to become candidates for a
two-year term on the Wood County Committee on Aging (WCCOA) Governing Board. There are 10 positions open
for election.
Potential candidates should request a nomination form from the WCCOA, 305 N. Main, Bowling Green, Ohio
43402-2424.
Applications are due on or before Sept. 1 to the nominating committee chairman at that address.
Elections will take place in November, with the term beginning Jan. 1, 2010.
The Governing Board sets policy and conducts the affairs of the WCCOA. Board members are expected to
attend the monthly board meetings held at 1:15 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month and to serve on
at least one committee.
Other board responsibilities include supporting WCCOA strategic planning goals and program activities;
maintaining fiduciary responsibilities; and contributing to fund-raising campaigns and the endowment
fund, based on personal abilities.
