CedarCreek accepts gift of Toledo YMCA’s old building

PERRYSBURG – CedarCreek Church has announced it has officially accepted the YMCA’s generous offer and
will take possession of the South Toledo YMCA building probably around Sept. 1.
The plan is to have the building remodeled and ready to serve the community as early as the fall of 2010.
The final transfer of the property is contingent on CedarCreek being able to get at least 350 parking
spaces in total and that would have to happen without taking a big chunk of "Green Space."
Lee Powell serves as senior pastor of CedarCreek Church, which now boasts more than 7,000 in weekly
attendance at its multiple locations
"This news is wonderful," Powell stated. "The YMCA board of directors unanimously approved
giving the building and property to CedarCreek Church."
He added that the "tentative" plan is to invest 1.5 to 2.0 million dollars in remodeling and
additions to make the building suitable for the church’s purposes.
The newly remodeled facility would include a 500-seat auditorium, a new atrium, children’s classrooms,
and a gymnasium.
"Our hope is that we can complete the project by late 2010 early 2011," the pastor stated.
" This really is an amazing set of circumstances. A building in a prime location given to us. Yea
God!"
