Regional art exhibit at BGSU
The Northwest Ohio Community Art Exhibition at Bowling Green State University continues today through
Saturday in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery in Bowling Green State University Fine Arts Center.
The exhibit features more than 200 pieces of art by about 75 Northwest Ohio residents.
Gallery hours are today and Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 1-4 p.m.
Prizm presents watercolor talk
PERRYSBURG – Prizm Creative Community and Way Public Library will present a lecture-demonstration
"Wonderful Watercolor" by artist John Trumball on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the library.
The artist will discuss the steps involved in translating a favorite photograph or scene into a
watercolor painting. Admission is free.
At this Adult Summer Reading Program event, Mr. Trumball will show how to create a line drawing, do a
value study and lay in the water-soluble pigments.
The artist will also offer a five-week watercolor workshop in September and October. For more information

Playing casting ‘Kiss Me Kate’
WATERVILLE – Waterville Playshop will hold auditions for Cole Porter’s "Kiss Me Kate" Friday
from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. with callbacks Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Zion Lutheran
Church, 22 N. Second St.
The musical, directed by Bill Quinlan, will be staged Oct. 23 to 25 in the Maumee Indoor Theater.
Metals, silver workshop offered
The art-a-site! Gallery in downtown Bowling Green will offer metal working and silversmithing classes
taught by Mike Wallace.
The six-week sessions cost $125 plus supplies.
One class will meet on Mondays from 6 to 8 p.m. starting Monday and continuing through Sept. 14. The
second class will meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. starting Aug. 5 and ending Sept. 9.

Rudolph painter wins award
TOLEDO – Monica Birsen, of Rudolph, received an honorable mention for her painting "Tigger Giving
the Evil Eye" at the Toledo Artists’ Club’s "Light – The Effect of" show.
The exhibit continues through Aug. 20 at the club’s gallery on the grounds of the Toledo Botanical
Garden, 5403 Elmer Drive.
Roche de Boeuf seeks artists
WATERVILLE – Artists are being sought to participate in the juried art show at the Roche de Boeuf
Festival, Sept. 26.
Cash prizes for the first and second place awards will be given.
