Stella Marie Anna Smith, age 85, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully with her family by her side
on Friday, July 24, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
Stella was born on June 11, 1924 in Miami, Florida, to her parents Albert J. and Marie Anna (Dumont)
Johnson Sr. Stella married her husband Merle H. Smith in Everglades City, Florida on December 11, 1943.
Stella and Merle have been married a wonderful 65 years.
Stella retired from Libbey Glass in August of 1989 where she had worked for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, the Perrysburg Senior Center and Libbey Glass Gem Club.
Stella is survived by her husband Merle, brother, Douglas Johnson of San Diego, California and her
children, Merle A. (Christine) Smith, Janet C. (Charles) Larrance, Nadine M. (Thomas) Dlugas and Michael
W. (Barbara) Smith. Stella was the proud grandmother of Patrick Larrance, Stacy (Dominic) Finnerty,
Victoria Ames, Troy Ames, Erik Smith, Stephan Ames, Cory Smith and Cody Smith. She was fondly known as
"Great-Grandmother Choo-Choo" to Nathan, Nicholas and Neil Finnerty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Albert J. Johnson Jr.
Friends will be received Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.
South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where a scripture service will be held at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow
in Fort Meigs Cemetery.

Hospital; and Bonnie and JoEllen at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
