Tracy L. Crouch, 42, of Custar, who was killed Sunday in a one-vehicle crash, had appeared in court this
month on charges filed after a police standoff in Bowling Green.
He was in Municipal Court July 6 for a preliminary hearing on a felony charge of inducing panic. That
charge was dismissed but refiled as a misdemeanor. According to court records, Crouch pleaded no contest
and was found guilty.
The charge stemmed from a two-hour police standoff June 3 on Arlington Court. A neighbor had called
police to report Crouch was outside his home acting in what appeared to be an irrational manner. When an
city police officer arrived, he heard from inside the home what sounded like a shotgun round being
cycled into the chamber.
Members of a special response team later found Crouch unconscious in the garage.
At the hearing, Crouch was fined $1,000, suspended; received a suspended 171-day jail sentence; and was
placed on community control through 2012.
