Lois M. Griffin, 85, of Findlay, died at 7:35 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009 at The Heritage Nursing Home
in Findlay.
Lois was born in Wood County, Ohio, on June 23, 1924 to the late Harry A. and Mildred S. (Funk) Wells.
She married Clifford E. Griffin on August 30, 1950, and he preceded her in death on September 2, 1969.

Survivors include, a daughter, Jennifer M. Griffin; son-in-law, David J. Karhoff; a grandson, Lucas G.
Karhoff, all of Findlay, Ohio; and a brother, Cloyce "Bud" Wells, of McComb, Ohio. Lois was
preceded in death by two brothers, Harry A. Wells Jr., and Galen "Salty" Wells.
Lois was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Findlay for over 50 years.
A graduate of Providence Hospital School of Nursing, Sandusky, Ohio, she was a Registered Nurse for 47
years in the Wood and Hancock County area. Lois was a 50-year member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority –
Alpha Nu Master Chapter; and a member the Ohio Association of Nurses.
Lois volunteered her time with various organizations including The Red Cross Blood Bank, Camp Fire Girls,
and St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Her hobbies and interests included traveling, especially to the West and Mackinac Island, Michigan,
antiques, knitting, hockey, horses, Scottish Terriers, cats, bird watching, and flowers.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home,
followed by a Beta Sigma Phi Memorial Ritual at 5 p.m.
The funeral service will begin immediately after the Ritual, with Rev. Christian Dittmar officiating.
A graveside service will be held at Ste. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery, Mackinac Island, Michigan, at 2 p.m.
on Sunday, July 26, 2009 with Father Jim Williams officiating.
