The Wood County 4-H Committee will announce the winners of the 4-H Honor Court Scholarship program on
July 27 during the 4-H Style Revue at the Fairgrounds.
There were 16 4-H members who completed the application and are thus vying for $2,500 in scholarship
money to the eight honorees. All applicants are at least 16-years-old, and prepared an application with
an essay and will be interviewed by a panel of judges on July 26.
A reception for all applicants, their family and friends will be held following the style revue.
This funding is made available as a result of 4-H Milkshake Barn sales. Future donations will help this
fund grow even larger in years to come.
Honor Court members will act as 4-H Ambassadors, speaking at functions throughout the year including
achievement and recognition programs. They may be invited by local clubs for speaking engagements and
support for legislative visits.
Because of the size and the quality of the Wood County 4-H program, it is an extremely high honor for the
4-H members who will be chosen for this honor.
Of course, there share of the scholarship money is also important for the students.
The Honor Court is a recent addition to the 4-H program in the county.
