PERRYSBURG – Homes and businesses are currently being judged for the annual Perrysburg in Bloom contest.

The contest recognizes the landscaping improvement efforts of residents and commercial businesses.
Awards will be given in the categories of Best Front Yard, Best Accent Planting and Best Commercial
Business Frontage. All commercial businesses and residents in the city are automatically entered in the
contest.
The front yard category is specifically that, no corners or back yards will be considered. Accent
planting will recognize window boxes, as well as plantings around mailboxes or lampposts, filled
containers, island gardens, etc. The final category focuses only on businesses and retail
establishments.
Scoring will be based on first impression and its "wow" appeal, use of color as well as the
design and use of space.
Winners will be announced later this month.
