Ryan K. Scheerer, 35, of Fremont, was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday after pleading guilty
May 22 to three counts of retaliation and one count
of menacing by stalking.
Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Mayberry handed down the sentence.
The charges stemmed from threats last year to harm Bowling Green Municipal Court Judge Mark Reddin,
Bowling Green assistant prosecutor Steve Callejas, and a crime victim. The menacing charge also was
related to the crime victim.
Scheerer was an inmate at the jail at the time, pending criminal cases in Reddin’s court. He was
previously convicted of violating a protection order in connection with the victim.
Scheerer was sentenced to the four-year prison term on each of the retaliation counts and 18 months on
the stalking charge, all to be served concurrently.
He will be given credit for time served in jail as well as time with Northcoast Behavioral Healthcare,
Toledo.
The retaliation charges are third-degree felonies; the stalking charge is a fourth-degree felony.
