Questions raised about BG fireworks
Bowling Green’s Chamber of Commerce is asking the firm that handled the July 4th fireworks to look into
the odd ending of the show.
Numerous shells were set off after the apparent grand finale.
Chamber Director Earlene Kilpatrick said she has asked the firm to check into the problem. "There
were some unspent shells. We’re unsure if it was bad shells or a computer glitch. We don’t want to see
this problem continue," she said.
The 2008 show also ended on a wrong note, with the grand finale coming after about a 15-minute delay.
The show is under the auspices of the chamber and is paid for by donations from Bowling Green businesses
and individuals. The city provides police and fire protection and Bowling Green State University
provides the site and related services.
