Balcony fire at Millikin in BG


Bowling Green firefighters were called to the Millikin building at Main and Wooster about 10:15 Monday
morning for a fire on the balcony.
All units had cleared the scene by 10:50.
The first fire unit on the scene reported light smoke and a small fire on the balcony.
The fire was extinguished and firefighters checked to make sure there was no extension of the fire.
Two pumpers and an aerial ladder were sent to the scene. Once of the pumpers returned to service by
10:30. The aerial ladder was returned to service at 10:33.
Police redirected traffic through the area.
The former hotel has been remodeled on the upper floors for apartments and the stree-level floor are
retail units.
