WASHINGTON, D.C. – Late last week, Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) introduced H. Con. Resolution
157, recognizing Friday, Aug. 21 as National Senior Citizens Day.
"Throughout our history, senior citizens have made countless contributions to the strength of the
United States through communities and families," Latta noted.
"National Senior Citizens Day is an opportunity for us to recognize the accomplishments and feats of
older Americans.
We should urge the people of the United States to honor, respect, and appreciate senior citizens for
their contributions and encourage our children and students to listen and learn from senior
citizens," Latta suggested after introducing the resolution.
