To the Editor: Parent upset with BG school board

0

I am writing this in response to the Bowling Green Board of Education’s decision to cut teachers and
educational programs and not sports. All I have to say is shame on you board of education, shame on you!

Extracurricular activities’ funding should be cut before teachers and educational programs. If either of
my (elementary) children want to play sports I have to pay for them to play. Which was fine until now.

When you cut an entire teacher’s position instead of cutting sports! When you cut fifth grade camp
instead of sports, which by the way we the parents also have to pay for! Not to mention the fundraisers
that have been done for camp. My daughter sold candy bars for camp and people happily bought them,
because they wanted to help send the kids to camp. Because of this I will not help out with another
fundraiser for Bowling Green City Schools!
