Margarito "Mike" and Laura Mendieta of Portage are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary
today.
They were married June 24, 1939 in Kennedy, Texas. The couple moved to Bowling Green in 1942.
The Mendietas have six children, Mike and Pete, both of Portage; Dan, Bowling Green; Richard, Oregon,
Ohio; Joe, Apache Junction, Ariz.; and Geneva Hernandez, Houston.
The couple have 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
