To the Editor: BG should not cut 5th grade camp

I have children that attend Bowling Green schools and I have read that they are planning on cutting the
5th grade camp. How in the world can they do that when 3 out of 5 elementary schools have already done
fundraisers to raise money to go to camp?
This is something that should not have made it to the list of items to be cut. If they cut things, the
first thing that should be cut is sports. You go to school to learn, not play sports.
It’s not just the school that pays for camp, we as parents pay for it too.
My child is very upset that she is not going to camp this school year. She was looking forward to going
and now her heart is broken. This camp thing needs to be rethought out.
