Badenhop goes four-plus innings
BOSTON – Burke Badenhop, from Perrysburg High School and Bowling Green State University, pitched 41â„3
innings for Florida in an 8-2 loss to Boston Tuesday.
Badenhop allowed three inherited runners to score in Boston’s six-run fourth inning, but did not allow
another run in finishing the game. He allowed four hits with two walks and two strikeouts to lower his
earned run average to 3.79 in 16 games covering 38 innings.
In the fourth Badenhop walked Jason Bay to force in a run and allowed a two-run single to David Ortiz,
who drove in three runs in the inning. Ortiz’s hit got through the Marlin’s defensive shift.
"I was kind of disappointed in myself, because my job was to get Jason Bay and get David Ortiz out
and keep us in the game," Badenhop said. "To keep us at five runs at that point, that would
have kept us a lot closer. But unfortunately, I didn’t do it."
Reimold walks twice
BALTIMORE – Nolan Reimold, from Bowling Green State University, walked twice and was 0-for-2 in
Baltimore’s 6-4 loss to the New York Mets.
Reimold is hitting .281 in 96 at-bats in 29 games.
