Farmworker dies in accident
CLAYTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) ? A farmworker has been killed in a tractor accident in northern lower
Michigan.
Authorities say the tractor overturned in a ditch Monday afternoon, trapping the man underneath. An
autopsy is planned. The ditch was dry.
It happened in Arenac County?s Clayton Township near the village of Sterling, about 30 miles
north-northwest of Bay City.
The man is described as elderly and was a longtime employee of Berry Tree Farm, run by Glen Berry.
Propane tank kills worker
WACONIA, Minn. (AP) ? A young man was killed and another injured after a propane tank exploded at a farm
supply company in Minnesota.
The victim was an employee of Waconia Farm Supply. His name was not immediately released, but friends
told the Star Tribune he was a high school senior.
Carver County Sheriff?s Lt. Dave Williams said the tank exploded around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities
were investigating. The injured person?s wounds were not life-threatening.
The sheriff called the explosion ?a pretty traumatic event.?
