Wood’n Horses
Members of the Wood’n Horses 4-H Club met Thursday at the Wood County Fairgrounds at the old race horse
barn.
A practice session was scheduled, however, the rain forced the session to be cancelled. An organizational
meeting was held to discuss fair preparations and turn in registration forms.
Club members will be working the gates at the Tri-State show on June 27 at the fairgrounds. Members will
also be decorating their barn to the theme, "Do you believe in magic."
Discussions were held about the state qualifying show to be held at the Wood County fairgrounds, social
gathering dates, and responsibilities for activities at the fair.
A work session with horses is scheduled for next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds horse arena.

Duke’s Mixture
Duke’s Mixture 4-H Club met last week at the Webster Township Hall.
Members were reminded of judging dates and to turn in dues. A simple float was decided on. Service
project and fundraising ideas were discussed. Further information is needed to make a decision.
Members decided on a royal blue and white T-shirt with the logo "Learn by Duking" on the shirt.
Club members will receive the shirts shortly.
Some members will give presentations next meeting, which is scheduled for July 1 at 8 p.m. at the same
location.
Dowling Stitch,
Stir and Stock
On June 10, 21 members of Dowling, Stitch, Stir, & Stock 4-H Club met at the Lucky Legion Hall.

The members talked about new and old business of the club. They also met in committees and shared the new
ideas and old ideas about their committee.
The club members are also planning a meeting on July 15 at the Dennis’s house to work on their booth
settings. At the end of the meeting, all the members in attendance signed a club shirt for Whadzna to
bring back to her home town.
The next meeting was set for this morning at the Lucky Legion; followed by June 24 and July 1, both at 10
a.m. at the same location; and July 22 at 6 p.m., also at the Legion.
July 1 is the club’s mock judging and July 22 is the club’s parents night, to show the parents what they
learned this year.
