WESTON – James Jacob Beck, 66 of Weston, died Saturday (June 13, 2009).
For 12 years he worked as deputy sheriff and full-time sheriff for Williams County, where he also was a
member of the dive team. He also was an auxiliary in the Wood County Sheriff’s office.
He was a member of the Weston Village Council.
His memberships included Bowling Green’s Fraternal Order of Police, Weston Church of Christ, and Masonic
Blue Lodge where he was a Master Mason.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and traveling.
He graduated in 1962 from Stryker High School.
Born in Wauseon, to Floyd and Elsie (Eager) Beck, he married Marjorie Delcamp on July 1, 1979 in
Montpelier, and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Robin Areson of Bismark, N.D., and Amy Brown Bowling Green; three sons,
Todd of Montpelier; Eric, Rossford; and C. Jason, Bowling Green; a sister, Judy Humes of Indiana; two
brothers, Don, Coldwater, Mich., and Greg of Stryker; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial
will follow with a graveside Sheriff services at Weston Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation
will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday.
