Preteens, teens and adults have a classy new shop to buy gently-used clothing, shoes and accessories.
New 2 You, with a logo of N2Y, has opened at Woodland Mall across from the Cinema 5. It is owned by
Cherie Stewart and her son, Brent Stewart.
The store features clothing from over 20 name brand companies, including Aeropostale, Gap, Old Navy,
Disney, New York & Co., Banana Republic and Mudd.
It has a variety of shoes and numerous accessories, from jewelry and scarves, to belts and purses – some
of which are Coach and Prada. There are also miscellaneous items, such as books, DVDs, iPods (on
consignment) and Playstation games.
"We have a little bit of everything," said Cherie Stewart. "We try to go with a name
brand. If it’s nice and clean, we’ll go with that.
"I’m trying to keep the prices low so people feel comfortable," she said. "Basically, we
have all sizes, all styles."
Brent Stewart said the store started out like a teen shop, but in purchasing a variety of clothing it
expanded to more than just for teens. For women there are summer clothing, tops and bottoms, jackets,
plus sizes and even some maternity. One rack features prom and party dresses.
For men there are shoes, jackets, short-sleeve summer shirts and jeans.
New 2 You features a "dollar corner" where all the items are just one dollar.
Persons with clothing items to sell take it to the store and give Cherie Stewart time to go through them.
"I give them a bid on what they bring in," she said. People are then welcome to take back
whatever is not purchased by the store.
"We offer a fair rate," added Brent Stewart. "It seems like we’re buying from the college
kids and selling to teens and older people."
"I’ve been watching the economy," he said. "A lot of resale shops are booming. It’s been
kind of getting another business started and helping the community out. The mall has been helpful."
Stewart said that from management to custodial, the mall’s staff had welcomed them as family.
A future possibility is opening a second store, just for children’s resale clothing.
New 2 You is open Monday through Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.,
and Saturday noon to 8 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays.
