Powell set to retire
PERRYSBURG – First United Methodist Church of Perrysburg, 200 W. Second St., will hold a public reception
for its pastor, Terry Powell, from 2 to 4 p.m. on June 21 at the church.
Powell will be retiring that day after 38 years in the ministry, the last 10 at the Perrysburg church.

Shinkle leads mission trip
LEMOYNE – Pastor Ron Shinkle of Lemoyne Baptist Church is seeking prayer support for the upcoming mission
trip to be taken by 10 people to Romania and Ukraine. They will be leaving Thursday.
Shinkle will be preaching at a pastor’s conference for several days. The rest of the team will be
ministering at a church including street evangelism, children’s Bible clubs and teen outreach.
Spaghetti dinner benefit set
The St. Louis Parish and School Steering Committee of Custar, is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner at teh
Whitehouse-Waterville Moose Lodge, formerly the Grand Rapids Sportsman club, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.

The lodge is located on Jeffers Road in Grand Rapids, just off U.S. Route 24.
Tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.
The meal includes spaghetti, tossed salad and garlic bread.
All proceeds will go toward school expenses.
Vineyard hosts healing night
PERRYSBURG – "Worship and Healing Night," which is held on the third Sunday of each moth is
being moved to Vineyard Church of Toledo, 210 E. South Boundary, Perrysburg.
Area churches will be joining together for a time of extended worship followed by prayer for the sick and
ministry for those who are looking for a touch from God.
The event will be held at 7 p.m. on June 21.
More than 20 different churches and ministries have been represented in past services.
The public is invited to attend.
Soup and salad lunch offered
The congregation of Hope Lutheran Church, 13507 Cloverdale Road, will host a soup and salad luncheon in
the fellowship hall Sunday from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will benefit the Lutheran Association for
Missionary Pilots and the Wernle Home in Richmond, Ind. The menu includes beef barley and chicken noodle
soups, hot dogs and chicken sandwiches, along with a variety of salads and desserts.
Movies being shown
Wood County Baptist Church, 14161 Dirlam Road, will hold its biweekly "Movie Night" next Friday
at 7 p.m.
Organizers plan a night of entertainment, snacks and refreshments. The event is free and open to the
public.
The June 19 movie will be "Six: The Mark Unleashed," by the producers of "Fireproof."

Children’s movies are also shown.
Those attending are invited to bring their own favorite chair or bean bag.
July VBS deadline nears
Organizers from the various vacation Bible schools planned for July need to have all information
submitted by noon on June 24. July schools will be be published on June 26.
Any August schools will be published on July 31, with a deadline of July 29.
Information which should be provided would be dates, times and places of the school, ages involved,
registration cost and information and theme. Also, the listings will include any special closing program
and other events of interest.
