2 finalists for Penta superintendent
The Penta Board of Education has narrowed its search for a new superintendent down to two candidates.
The board will conduct its second round of interviews this week.
Those still under consideration are Ronald W. Matter, Maumee, Penta’s assistant superintendent since 2005
and former Northwood Schools superintendent; and Judy Wells, of Williamsport, high school principal for
the Pickaway-Ross Career and Technology Center in Chillicothe.
Penta Board President Eric Myers said he hoped the board would make an announcement at its regular July
meeting.
Penta Superintendent Fred Susor is retiring as of July 31.
Texas Hold ‘Em Saturday at VFW
VFW Post 1148 will hold a Texas Hold ‘Em event Saturday starting at 3 p.m.
The event is open to the public at 719 S. Main St. in Bowling Green.
Increased water rates topic of forum
A public forum will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. on the increased water rates in Friendly Village and other
local manufactured home parks managed or owned by Choice Properties.
The meeting, to be held in the Perrysburg Township Fire Hall, at 26711 Lime City Road, will be hosted by
State Rep. Randy Gardner, R-Bowling Green, and Wood County Commissioner Tim Brown.
Perrysburg changes meeting times
PERRYSBURG – The City of Perrysburg has changed its committee meeting schedule for Monday. Meetings that
evening will include: Health Sanitation and Public Utilities at 5, Recreation at 5:30, and Service
Safety at 6.

Make murals at public library
Drop into the Wood Country District Public Library Children’s Place on Friday, anytime between 10:30 a.m.
and 12:30 p.m., for some mural making fun.
As part of this year’s Summer Reading Program, experience first-hand the art of cave painting as well as
what it was like for Michelangelo to do the Sistine Chapel – a painting on the ceiling.
