3 from NB earn All-MAL first team

FREMONT – Three North Baltimore athletes earned All-Midland Athletic League first-team honors in baseball
and softball this spring.
In softball, NB’s Leona Euler, a sophomore outfielder, and Emily Stewart, a sophomore infielder, were
first-team all-league picks.
In baseball, NB’s Chris Casey, a junior infielder, was a first-team selection.
Also for NB, senior Brittany Vanaman and freshman Jessica Frost were second-team selections and
sophomores Mackenzie Carpenter and Andrea Smith were honorable mention choices.
Mohawk’s Jenny Weinandy and New Riegel’s Jamie Lininger were co-coaches of the year and Mohawk’s Jackie
Messersmith was the player of the year for softball.
Also in baseball, NB sophomore Clinton Ebright was a second-team selection while junior Jeremy Grant was
an honorable mention pick.
Tony Swanagan and Jay Yost, both from Hopewell-Loudon, were the coach and player of the year,
respectively.
