CUSTAR – Items from several unlocked cars were stolen Monday night in this rural town southwest of
Bowling Green.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded last night to a series of thefts in the area of Custar Road
and Defiance Pike. Items that were easiest to obtain – especially money and other loose items – were
taken from vehicles parked in driveways, Lt. Jamie Webb said this morning.
Deputies responded to four reported thefts from vehicles and one report of breaking and entering of
private property. Now the sheriff’s office is looking for connections between the Custar break-ins and
vehicles thefts in other areas of the county.
